Purpose
Our task was to select the optimal CMS, develop and implement the optimal software and hardware architecture, radically increase the reliability, stability and performance of the website, and conduct all necessary tests. There was also a task of implementation of new features on the Website, its maintenance and technical support.
Website of the online store "Gardens", domestic's largest manufacturer and supplier of seeds and seedlings of fruit and vegetable crops, flowers, and ornamental shrubs. The daily audience of the Website is measured in tens of thousands of customers.
The following work was performed:
- Selection and rationale of the optimal CMS for the largest domestic online store;
- Benchmarking of various architectural solutions and configurations for the selected CMS, selection of the optimal cluster architecture;
- Deployment and configuration of a cluster;
- Load testing, vulnerability testing, developing and implementing improvements aimed at increasing the performance and security of the Website;
- Reporting on all the results of work, including delivery of source codes and all primary data;
- Functional and architectural improvements of the Website, maintenance and technical support.
Realization
- At the first stage, a comprehensive analysis was performed, performance and other parameters were analyzed, recommendations were developed on the use of the optimal CMS for the website of the online store “Gardens” (the choice was from 2 CMS);
- Next, the cluster architecture was designed based on the selected CMS, without the need to purchase separate licenses or additional modifications, taking into account the requirements for the Web-site, the implementation of data synchronization, integration and other important features;
- Resources for the cluster were allocated, an exact copy of the production Website was deployed, multiple tests and analysis were carried out. The optimal configuration of the cluster nodes was carried out, both in terms of characteristics and software elements of the Website.
- A series of load tests were performed, taking into account the distribution of the load across different regions, simulating the real load. Parameters of cluster resource consumption, incl. individual nodes, all services parameters were measured, bottlenecks of the Website performance were identified and eliminated;
- “Transporting” of the Website from old servers to a new cluster was carried out in a short time, all the work were performed according to the plan including strict timings, reservations, rollback plans;
- A Git source code repository has been implemented for the customer, automation (deployment) has been configured using git, git-runner, ansible. Comprehensive documentation on Git maintenance, deployment and other operations has been developed;
- As a result, the performance and stability of the “Gardens” website increased 10 times;
